Month Three: May (Part 2)

She's all mine, and the real adventures begin!

May 18th: An itty, bitty flymask for an itty, bitty girl!

May 20th: An afternoon spent with baby!

I'm not afraid of cows!

May 25th: Starting to really shed out now!

May 26th: First bath! (Well, just a hosing, but still.. First time!) She was quite a champ with the hose and water..

May 27th: "Look at my butt getting big and round!"

May 31st: A day getting pampered (tortured) up at the barn! A lot of currying to get that hair off, fly spraying, hoof picking, desensitization with a rope and my rain coat!

(She stood like this for a good five minutes, totally not caring about it!)

Month Three: May (Part 1)

Within the first week of May, everything fell into place and I knew she was meant to be mine.. :)

May 4th, 2013: Getting a quick beauty treatment for our first show!

May 5th, 2013: Babies first show! She got 3rd.

Such a good girl, she didn't even care about a new place or the people swarming!

And we have discovered the joys of being scratched... Perhaps her favorite thing right now!

May 12th, 2013: Mother's Day! My mom came out to see her again, and we found her napping.. :)

May 13th, 2013: Looking pretty cute!

May 16th, 2013: The day she officially became mine! :D

I was still convinced I didn't need a second horse, and I really wanted Willow to get adopted to a good home. I took lots of pictures of the little princess to help advertise her on the PTHR Nursemare Foal facebook page..

Month One: March

Willow came with the name "Mini Cooper". I only came out occasionally the first month, just to see the foals as I've never been around them before and of course they are just ADORABLE. I loved her from the moment I saw her- just something about her attracted her to me (besides the fact she looks just like my big horse, Starburst!) Not all of these pictures are accurate on the dates, but they are very close!

March 13th, 2013: Willow and a few other fillies are picked up from the farmer in Kentucky and brought to safety in North Carolina.

March 17th, 2013: Willow and seven other fillies arrived at Pure Thoughts Horse & Foal Rescue.

March 18th, 2013: I meet Willow for the first time and immediately fall in love- but hey! Wait a minute. I don't need a second horse. And especially a baby!
